NFL News-Ultimate Dynasty Impact (Mike Wallace)

These are special articles that will look at some of the top stories in the NFL and what impact they could have on our league.

The Mike Wallace Contract Situation - As everyone knows Wallace is in a contract dispute and things took a drastic turn for the worse when the Steelers gave Antonio Brown the contract they had been reportedly offering Wallace. It looks like if Wallace wants to play this year he's going to have to sign his one year tender which I think he'll eventually do but each week he holds out is another week he's behind in a brand new Todd Haley offense while Brown takes the reps in the one spot. Wallace' long term value is also cloudy as he's far from certain to be in Pittsburgh past 2012.

ULTIMATE EFFECT

1. Mike Wallace (Anthony Hatfield) - Wallace was coming into 2012 as a low end WR1/high end WR2 but now with this hold out even he plays the whole regular season you have to think Antonio Brown will have past him in this offense for the #1 receiver role. Wallace is now looking more like a mid level WR2 with upside and he still has plenty of skill so no matter where he winds up beyond this year he should still be plenty good and viewed as a high WR2 in dynasty depending on his landing spot.

2. Antonio Brown (Super Manning) - This is a huge boost for Super Manning as Antonio had already outscored Wallace for the last 7 weeks of the 2012 season and now with him in camp learning the offense while Wallace isn't he has WR1 upside even if Wallace does show up in time for the season. Even more important with that contract Brown is now assured of being in Pittsburgh for the foreseeable future and should even be the WR1. This potentially gives Phil two future WR1's in Demaryius Thomas and Antonio Brown, not too bad. It can't be overstated how big the Wallace situation has ended up being for Super Manning.

3. Ben Roethlisberger (Dynasty Kings) - Roethlisberger may be slightly effected by Wallace's absence but I can't see it being too big of a deal. The Steelers look like they're going to be throwing the ball all over the yard which makes Roeth a great high upside back up to have for the Kings. Losing Wallace in the long term would however slightly downgrade Roeth due to the decline in his receiving corps.

4. Emmanuel Sanders (Sharks) - A lot of sites last year were heralding Sanders as a break out candidate expecting him to do what Brown ended up doing. If he can avoid injuries he could be a pretty good receiver in that Pittsburgh system. The biggest bump he gets though is for his long term future while it looks like Wallace may be exiting come 2013 which would put Sanders in line as the #2 WR to Antonio Brown for the Steelers which could potentially make him a mid level dynasty WR2 with upside.
