PRESEASON POWER RANKINGS: JULY 25, 2012

First off to start these Power Rankings off these are strictly my opinions and have absolutely no effect on what will happen during the season so don't get mad at me if you think I have your team too low just prove it in the regular season and you'll move up. Also before I dive into these I'd like to say ordering the teams 2-9 was very hard there is a clear cut title favorite in my opinion but I'll say this, if your team is ranked 9 or higher you should have championship aspirations this year the league is very balanced this opening year and it's gonna be a dogfight to see who walks away with the first ever Ultimate Dynasty Fantasy Football Championship.

1. Dynasty Kings (Dylan Gibson) - I hate this more than any of you but looking at the team it's hard to see who could be ranked higher. Mathews and Murray are a solid 1-2 punch at running back, they have the best receiver and in my opinion best tight end in the game. Add to that their flex (Gore/S.Johnson) and 2nd receiver (VJAX) are far from slouches. Romo is not a top tier QB but he's safely in the top 8 for 2012 with high upside in that Dallas' offense. This team is one of the best teams you could build for the 2012 season and should be the title favorite.

2. Kory Adams (Kory Adams) - He may do most of his research in the newspaper but Kory Adams is primed to have a very nice season. Acquiring Brees on the cheap yesterday sent him sky rocketing up these rankings. A Brees-Gronk combo with a pretty decent team built around them should be a big time competitor in 2012. The wildcard here is Peterson, if he returns to form then Kory's team is going to be just nasty, I highly doubt he will though. Even without a vintage Peterson this should be a very good team with AP, Sproles, Bowe, and Lloyd sandwiched in between a top 3 QB and top 2 tight end.

3. Scott's Tots (Taylor Ray) - Tray stuck to his old school running back philosophy and built around a strong running back duo featuring Rice and Forte as its top players. SJAX is a great flex option for one more year and Cruz/Colston is not a bad receiving combo while you could do worse than Rivers at QB. Celek at tight end is a weak spot but realistically if you don't have Graham or Gronkowski you're not going to be great there anyway. If Cruz comes close to repeating his 2011 season Taylor Ray will be smiling long into December but then again even if Cruz doesn't he'll be smiling, for those of you who don't know Tray is always smiling.

4. 704 Super McCoys (John Gallimore) - The man of a thousand trades has built a strong team in a similar mold to Scott's Tots with a great runningback duo of McCoy and Charles. This team should be in the thick of the playoff race this season. One thing that put this team behind Scott's Tots for me however was how their top players are all on the same few teams and those that aren't have the same bye weeks. This could be a huge problem this season as in week 7 they will be without Ryan, McCoy, Charles, and Maclin then in week 10 they'll be without both Green Bay receivers which should make wins hard to come by and in league this competitive Mr. Gallimore can't afford to throw away games. If they can survive their bye week trouble and Ryan takes the next step the Super McCoys could be well on their way to a title.
5. Anthony Hatfield (Anthony Hatfield) - I liked this team better for 2012 before the Newton trade but that trade should keep him in the top half of these rankings for years to come so it was a nice move. Right now this team has a ton of upside and is still very strong with the only weakness being Isaac Redman in the starting line up. Marshall, Harvin, and Wallace is a very nice trio of wide receivers and after the big 2 at tight end Hernandez is probably the guy to have, if Chris Johnson gets his head on straight and Newton avoids a sophomore slump this team has the potential to be rolling through opponents and giving Anthony a title to go along with his degree this winter.

6. Rodger's Neighborhood (Luke Zente) - Luke has done a masterful job improving this team post draft, Rodgers alone can make a team competitive but that's far from all this team has. Turner/Beanie and Austin/Djax while not great combos at their positions are definitely good enough to be highly competitive when you have Rodgers. This team also has a lot of depth for 2012 with Gerhart, Hillis, D.Williams, T.Smith which should have them in the thick of the hunt for the playoffs. Two things are for sure for Luke this fall, he'll be tweeting and he'll be in the thick of the playoff race.

7. Caleb Collins (Caleb Collins) - CLO has made some big time moves and has his team set up to be nice contender starting from season 1. The main thing that sends this team to the middle of the rankings is its reliance on an unproven rookie QB in RG3 which may have this team waiting to become a juggernaut while he progresses. Outside of RG3 though this team is solid with one of the top running back duos in Foster/TRich and easily a top 5 wide out in Fitz coupled with a top 15 Steve Smith. If they acquire a better stop gap QB for 2012 their odds of walking away with the title would improve greatly. This ranking was the hardest for me to do because this team really has top 1 potential with a QB upgrade I just can't see a rookie RG3 finishing any better than top 20 in 2012 which will put them at a huge disadvantage this season.

8. Matt Boles (Matt Boles) - Boles is looking to put to bed the rumors that he is the Matt Millen of fantasy sports, so how's he looking? This team is old but has definite championship aspirations for 2012. Brady/Nicks/Welker is a sick QB/Receivers combo and the running back position with Doug Martin and Reggie Bush should be decent enough. They lack depth and may not have the brightest future but I like this team for 2012 and think a lot of people will be shocked at just how well they do this season as long as Boles keeps up with it and they don't suffer any injuries. Consider it a sign of the apocalypse if you want but with a little luck in the playoffs there is a fighter's chance Boles could be the last team standing.

9. Super Manning (Phillip Bullock) - **Disclaimer, I don't believe in the Manning come back which obviously has me seeing Phil's team in a more negative light than others may** This team is built around two stud backs McFadden and Lynch, I currently believe Lynch will avoid a suspension which is great news for Super Manning. Demaryius Thomas definitely has upside to be a WR1 but I don't think he's there yet which puts Phil's receiving corp as a bit of a weakness. This is the last team in the rankings that really has playoff and even championship aspirations but they all hinge on Peyton's recovery. If it goes good Phil will climb these rankings but if it goes bad may God have mercy on the walls and door of our apartment.

10. Andrew Hatfield (Andrew Hatfield) - Andrew inherited a team that's not quite built to win in 2012 but also doesn't have many future prospects. I'm sure he'll be able to turn this team around into a competitor but for 2012 he'll be relying on Vick, MJD, and Roddy to carry his team. As competitive as the league is this year that won't be good enough though. As long as he drafts well in future years like he did with Turbin, Hill, and Quick (all high upside picks) this year then he'll soon rise on this list..but it's gonna be a process.

11. Miami Sharks (Michael Gibson) - It's always hard to rank your own team, but without a current starting running back on the roster this team has to be bottom three. While I love my team I think it's definitely a year away from being a strong contender and I'm hedging my bets on some high upside back ups (Stewart, Tate, Spiller, Hunter). Look for my team to be a lot better towards the end of 2012 than it is in the beginning.

12. Tick (Matt Kinker) - This team is not built for 2012 but with (4) 2013 1st round picks and (4) 2014 1st round picks to build around Andrew Luck with this team has the potential to be #1 in these rankings in 3 years and set up for a dynasty. Tick has done a great job going into rebuild mode but the work is far from over he's gotta make sure he hits on the bulk of his picks if he wants to go from the toilet bowl to winning fantasy bowls. His strategy may not be the fun one to do but it'll pay dividends when he's a strong competitor for the final 7 years of the 10 year period.
