Week 1 Preview/Power Rankings

Week 1 Match Up Preview

Carolina Lions 0-0 AT Miami Sharks 0-0 (-15)
All Time H2H Regular Season (1-0 Lions)
All Time H2H Post Season (1-0 Sharks)

In a rematch of Ultimate Dynasty Bowl I, the Lions seek revenge for the championship they lost, while the Sharks hope to begin their title defense with their 5th straight victory. This game has a shoot out type feel to it and won't be decided until the conclusion of the 2nd Monday Night Football game due to the Lions rolling out four Texan/Charger starters (HB Foster, WR V.Brown, TE Daniels, D Texans). While the Lions definitely have big point potential from Rodgers, Foster, and Roddy, the Sharks have a big time advantage at their HB2 slot (Ray Rice VS Ronnie Hillman) and their TE slot (Jimmy Graham VS Owen Daniels) which should allow them to emerge from this Week 1 battle victorious. Sharks start off 2013 the same way they ended 2012, defeating the Lions, 107-88.
Difference Maker: HB Ray Rice, Miami Sharks - The Stud halfback recently dealt from the Lions to the Sharks will ironically make the biggest difference in this one as he carves up the Denver Defense on opening night.

Super Manning 0-0 AT Red Rockets 0-0 (+27)
All Time H2H Regular Season (1-0 Red Rockets)
All Time H2H Post Season (0-0)

In these teams' sole meeting last year the Red Rockets destroyed Super Manning 104-64, what a difference a year makes. Opening week finds Super Manning in a great position to return the favor. Phil boasts a line up that is superior to the Red Rockets at arguably every position other than QB. While I could see Ahmad Bradshaw having a nice day for John against the Raiders it won't be enough as Phil's trio of stud receivers (D.Thomas, Fitzgerald, A.Johnson) should make for a significant point gap between the two teams. Super Manning snags his 5th consecutive victory with a 97-70 win.
Difference Maker: WR Andre Johnson, Super Manning - Andre3000 should have a field day against San Diego's Defense, a 150 yard 2 TD type game is certainly possible to seal the win on Monday Night.

Kings 0-0 AT CLO Collins 0-0 (-71)
All Time H2H Regular Season (1-0 CLO Collins)
All Time H2H Post Season (0-0)

Two teams that both finished one game short of the Ultimate Dynasty Bowl now find themselves headed in very opposite directions. CLO Collins is the prime favorite to win Ultimate Dynasty Bowl II, while the Kings pulled the plug and went full rebuild mode. This game is going to show the stark differences between these two franchises. CLO Collins is not just superior at every position when compared to the Kings, but far far far superior. It will take a 1980 US Olympic hockey team "Do You Believe in Miracles?" type miracle for the Kings to even stay within 30 points. This point spread may very well not be high enough but I have CLO Collins winning in impressive fashion 118-41.
Difference Maker: HB LeSean McCoy, CLO Collins - Coin flip between Richardson and McCoy but think McCoy has good shot of possibly tripling the combined score of the Kings' running backs.

Goon Squad 0-0 AT Scott's Tots 0-0 (+3)
All Time H2H Regular Season (1-0 Tots)
All Time H2H Post Season (0-0)

Game of the week potential right here. These teams come into 2013 with very real playoff hopes and two pretty evenly matched squads. Both teams are taking advantage of the Patriots-Bills match up which should prove to be very beneficial for any Patriot starters (Ridley (GS), Vereen (Tots), Sudfeld (Tots), Patriot's D (Tots)). The wildcard in this game is actually the Patriot's defense, as they have unreal potential against the undrafted rookie Tuel. This game is going to be sick but give me the Goon Squad narrowly edging out the Tots 98-95.
Difference Maker: HB Marshawn Lynch, Goon Squad - The biggest match up differential is Lynch against Lacy, Lynch should find a pretty good amount of room to run against Carolina while Lacy should struggle against that San Francisco front.

Boles 0-0 AT Beat Skeet Leave 0-0 (-11)
All Time H2H Regular Season (1-0 BSL)
All Time H2H Post Season (0-0)

This should be a pretty good show down and a great 1st test for a Beat Skeet Leave squad that has playoff aspirations this year. Boles has a slight edge at receiver here in my opinion with Nicks and Welker edging Garcon and Colston just barely, but Beat Skeet Leave has a larger advantage at running back featuring Spiller, Morris, and MJD. In the end I think Beat Skeet Leave wins a fairly close one 99-88.
Difference Maker: HB Maurice Jones-Drew, Beat Skeet Leave - If MJD is back to performing at HB1 levels then Andrew will have no problem cruising past Boles, but if he shows some rust and isn't the same runner then this game will be a lot closer.

 Kory Adams 0-0 AT Purists 0-0 (-5)
All Time H2H Regular Season (1-0 Kory)
All Time H2H Post Season (0-0)

If you ask around the league who the favorite is for the Wildcard playoff spot 99.9% of the answers you see are going to be either Kory or the Purists, with that being said this very well could be the most important game of the year for these teams. Both feature what could be championship caliber rosters and it's hard to really get a read on this game but here's what I see happening; Brees will start on fire, Newton will start slow against the vaunted Seattle D, Peterson-SJax and Martin-Wilson will score pretty similar, Marshall will slightly edge VJax, while Wayne slightly edges Givens, the tight ends and defenses in this one are a crap shoot, James Jones should be decent but could get blown out by Lamar Miller. Give me the Purists 100-95 in a game that's not over until late Sunday night.
Difference Maker: HB Lamar Miller, Purists - The obvious difference maker in this game if Miller breaks out the Purists will defeat Kory, if he does not then this game becomes even more of a crapshoot with the edge going to Kory Adams. I for one am a Miller believer so I expect him to do enough to get the Purists the victory.

Power Rankings

1A. CLO Collins - Kaepernick, Richardson, McCoy, Mega, Dez, Cruz, Gonzo. Team has unreal ceiling week to week.

1B. Miami Sharks - Vick, Rice, Charles, Green, Julio, Gordon, Graham. The Sharks are built in a very similar fashion to CLO Collins and leaves no doubt that these two teams are in a tier of their own.

3. Beat Skeet Leave - One of the biggest recipes for success in fantasy is a strong running back stable and Andrew has put together one of the strongest. Spiller, Morris, and MJD give this team a great shot at winning the UFL Division.

4. Purists - Finally an injury goes in favor of the Purists, with Andre Brown down the sky is the limit for David Wilson. Even with no proven WR2 and very little depth this is the type of team that if he can get in and get hot can win this league.

5. Kory Adams - Once Gronk returns this team has all the talent needed to challenge the Sharks for the NFL Division.

6. Goon Squad - The more I look at this team the more I like it. The Ridley-Lynch combo has sleeper written all over this team and someone who could definitely challenge for the wildcard.

7. Super Manning - If either of McFadden or Mathews produce then Phil can give Andrew a serious run for the UFL division.

8. Scott's Tots - Solid team but lacks big time studs to really be a difference maker.

9. Matt Boles - A solid aging roster, will be competitive but lacks wow factor and reliable in season management.

10. Carolina Lions - Made some moves to make themselves compete longer by swapping out Rice with Rodgers that will cost him short term.

11. Red Rockets - Has potential to rise from the ashes eventually with an RG3, Bernard, Bell, T.Smith, Austin, and Maclin core, just not in 2013.

12. Dynasty Kings - Absolutely no shot in 2013 but not a bad young core at all and (7) 2014 1sts, as well as (5) 2015 1sts. This team has the potential to be scary good before long.

                    Dynasty Kings 2013 UDFFL Predictions

NFL

1. Miami Sharks (11-3)- Great team, good depth. 3 losses come from QB situation.
2. Kory Adams (9-5) *WC*- Strong team, might have trouble getting W's against the top tier teams.
3. Matt Boles (5-9)- Not a bad team. Lack of depth and in season management won't get them far.
4. Dynasty Kings (1-13)- Will be lucky to win a game, but I decided to humor myself.

UFL

1. BSL (11-3)- Well rounded team, need Garcon or Patterson to step up for WR depth.
2. Tots (8-6)- Love the Tots depth, however I can't see them cracking more than 8 wins.
3. Super Manning (8-6)- I could be way off on this. All depends on his pair of boom or bust HBs.
4. Carolina Lions (4-10)- I don't see this team being successful despite having Rodgers and Foster.

AFL

1. CLO (10-4)- May be the best team on paper, however I feel like they will lose a couple close ones.
2. BP Bears (9-5)- Team could prove me wrong and be #1. Previous bad luck holding them back.
3. Goonsquad (7-7)- I see this team as a huge sleeper. Kept it safe in my predictions though.
4. Red Rockets (2-12)- Just not a complete team. Still going to scare some of the good teams with close games.

1. Miami Sharks -109
4. Kory Adams - 101                         1. Miami Sharks- 107
                                                                                                                  *CHAMPION BSL*
2. BSL - 97                                         2. BSL - 111
3. CLO Collins
- 96

BSL is a sure contender. With strong in season management they will find a way to win Ultimate Dynasty Bowl 2.
