Week 3 Recap/Week 4 Preview/Power Rankings

Week 4 Recap: Top 5 Story Lines

1. The Miami Sharks prevailed in the much anticipated battle of the titans with CLO Collins, and have now positioned themselves at 3-0 as the favorite for the #1 seed.

2. We have a tie, I'm not sure anyone likes a tie in fantasy but if your Boles you have to be excited to stay undefeated even though he scored under 60 and for the Rockets anything is better than adding another loss especially since they don't own their pick.

3. After all the turmoil in the offseason and slow starts the Purists are somehow 2-1 and leading their division.

4. The Carolina Lions have officially engaged in a fire sale and made the Kings' weekly upset potential that much higher by selling them Rodgers.

5. Are Scott's Tots for real? Consistently producing solid points weekly may be good enough to find these Tots in the dance.

Week 4 Match Up Preview

Miami Sharks 3-0 AT Kory Adams 2-1 (+17)
All Time H2H Regular Season (2-0 Sharks)
All Time H2H Post Season (0-0)

The Sharks fresh off a big time win over CLO Collins and Kory Adams fresh off barely staving off a Kings upset this week, must both quickly refocus as they prepare for this crucial division match up. Let's take this match up for what it is, a match up between the only real legit contenders for the NFL division. The two head to head games the Sharks and Kory play will go a long way in deciding who captures the division crown. This week with SJAX still out and Gronk 50/50 to play as well as the talent gap between the Sharks' receivers and Kory's. Give me the Sharks 117-100 to keep their winning streak going.
Difference Maker: WR Desean Jackson, Miami Sharks - Could really pick any of the receivers here but DJAX has the potential to put up a huge game against Denver maybe 200+ yards, while Dwayne Bowe would be lucky if Alex Smith throws for 200 yards.

CLO Collins 1-2 AT Portcity Goonsquad 1-2 (+3)
All Time H2H Regular Season (2-1 CLO Collins)
All Time H2H Post Season (0-0)

I'm having dejavu over here as CLO Collins gets ready to go toe to toe with Goonsquad just a week removed from their last meeting that saw Tick pull off the monster upset. Speaking of upset, through three weeks the much heralded CLO Collins team has only been able to muster a win against one opponent, the Dynasty Kings. This game is huge for both teams as a 1-3 start would leave them needing to most likely go 8-2 over the last 10 games to have a good shot at the playoffs. While that is doable for both teams it'd be a whole heck of a lot easier if they just got back to .500 while defeating a big time divisional opponent this week. These teams match up really well and Tick gets an added boost that Staff and Mega go up against Chicago while Cruz has a date with Kansas City and Luck has Jacksonville. Still on paper CLO's team is just a bit better and I have them winning out 102-99.
Difference Maker: WR Dez Bryant, CLO Collins - While CLO's other two receivers may have a rough going, Dez should be in for a big day against San Diego and allow CLO to pull away from Tick.

Beat Skeet Leave 2-1 AT Super Manning 1-2 (-5)
All Time H2H Regular Season (2-1 BSL)
All Time H2H Post Season (0-0)

In the second dejavu match up of the week BSL and Super Manning go toe to toe yet again. If Super Manning loses this one you can all but count them out as competitors for the UFL Division. While Andrew will be in prime early position to find a playoff spot either as a division winner or the wildcard, all this with Spiller playing like trash. Unfortunately for Andrew with Randall Cobb on a bye and that machine in Denver not slowing down any time soon give me Peyton and Super Manning 93-88.
Difference Maker: WR Demaryius Thomas, Super Manning - Going against Philly should be set up for a huge day and allow Super Manning to finally get back in the win column.

Carolina Lions 1-2 AT Scott's Tots 2-1 (-13)
All Time H2H Regular Season (2-1 Lions)
All Time H2H Post Season (0-0)

Scott's Tots looks like the real deal and this Sunday they go head to head with a team that may be throwing in the towel on the 2013 season. The Lions are not a bad team but Scott's Tots is clearly more talented especially with the Lions supposed franchise player Arian Foster slumping and going up against the vaunted Seattle defense. I don't think this will be much of a contest I'd look for the Tots to win 95-82.
Difference Maker:  HB Matt Forte, Scott's Tots - Forte is trying to put to rest the claims that Scott's Tots lack a stud and he should continue to put up points as he draws Detroit this week.

Matt Boles 2-0-1 AT Dynasty Kings 0-3 (-4)
All Time H2H Regular Season (2-0 Kings)
All Time H2H Post Season (0-0)

I don't know what it says about Boles' undefeated start when the Dynasty Kings are favored over him, but after the Kings almost beat Kory last week and out scored Boles by almost 30 it seems like it'd be crazy not to pick the Kings. As long as SJAX is out and the Kings are able to get some kind of runningback production thanks to Snelling they are primed to make some upsets. Their receiving corps is not bad, Pryor is solid (especially against the Skins this week), and Jordan Cameron is a flat out stud. If Reggie Bush is out or limited against Chicago then this will be an easy win for the Kings. Even with a healthy Bush give me the Kings 85-81.
Difference Maker: TE Jordan Cameron, Dynasty Kings - The Kings' franchise player looks close to a Jimmy Graham clone, and when you're getting that production out of your tight end you can win some games.

Rockets 0-2-1 AT Purists 2-1 (-5)
All Time H2H Regular Season  (2-1 Purists)
All Time H2H Post Season  (0-0)

This game actually looks closer than I thought it would with no Cam and John's franchise QB RG3 going against the Raiders. I think the Purists should definitely be on upset alert due to the same issues that have plagued them all season (slow starts, no WR2) and should may even explore the trade market to fill some holes. As for the Red Rockets they have to be happy with the way their young players are progressing and they have a real shot to make some noise this week. I still say take the Purists 88-83 as they somehow progress to 3-1.
Difference Maker: TE Julius Thomas, Purists - Just as previously stated in the Kings game if you're getting big time production from the tight end slot that's a huge advantage and Thomas should have no problem against the Eagles' D.

Power Rankings Week #4

1. Miami Sharks 3-0 Prv. #1 - After handling rival CLO Collins last week and Josh Gordon exploding to give them yet another weapon, the Sharks are clearly alone as the number one team in the league.

2. CLO Collins 1-2 Prv. #2 - Still can't knock them down past 2 yet as they continue to put up big time points and are the 2nd highest scoring team in the league. Trich to the Colts should help, but a loss to Goonsquad this week would see CLO stumble down a spot...or three.

3. Scott's Tots 2-1 Prv. #9 - Huge week for the Tots, with the way Forte is playing and not too many other teams in the league stepping up the Tots could emerge as an elite team and the UFL Division champ.

4. Beat Skeet Leave 2-1 Prv. #3 - Time to worry about Spiller and MJD but BSL is still extremely talented and in the heart of the playoff discussion.

5. Kory Adams 2-1 Prv. #7 - Narrowly survived against the Kings this past week but once Gronk and SJAX get back they'll be a strong playoff contender.

6. Super Manning 1-2 Prv. #4 - With Peyton on his way to having a record breaking season and plenty of other talent on Super Manning you could argue if they snagged a big time halfback they'd be the #2 team in the league. Need to win this week though.

7. Purists 2-1 Prv. #8 - There is some serious talent on this team but with the holes at flex and WR2 hard to put them any higher than this. Once Harvin is back and their high rookie pick is in the fold next year could be a different story.

8. Goonsquad 1-2 Prv. #5 - Have to win the games they are supposed to but once Ray Rice is healthy this team has potential to be the highest scorer any given week, just need to find some consistency.

9. Matt Boles 2-0-1 Prv. #6 - Still undefeated but tough sledding is ahead for Boles will need to have better in season management to really have a chance at making the playoffs.

10. Dynasty Kings 0-3 Prv. #12 - Add in Aaron Rodgers, a progressing receiving corps, and a monster tight end this team is well on its way to rebuilding back into their championship contending form of 2012.

11. Red Rockets 0-2-1 Prv. #11 - His rookies like Gio are progressing and RG3 is looking okay fantasy wise, the Rockets could have a nice future ahead of them but will need some luck to pull off a win in 2013.

12. Carolina Lions 1-2 Prv. #10 - Foster has sunk this team and now add in the fact Luke is playing for 2014, it may be a long season for the Lions.

Week 2 Recap/Week 3 Preview/Power Rankings

Week 2 Recap: Top 5 Story Lines

1. Port City Goonsquad pulled off the big time upset of formerly #1 overall ranked CLO Collins led by franchise back Marshawn Lynch.

2. After setting the scoring record Super Manning fell back down to earth hard this week in a loss to their major divisional rival Beat Skeet Leave.

3. The last two undefeated teams are the Miami Sharks....and Matt Boles.

4. The last two winless teams are of no surprise, Red Rockets and Dynasty Kings.

5. The Purists bounced back going over 100 points showing they can compete with anyone any given week.

Week 3 Match Up Preview

Miami Sharks 2-0 AT CLO Collins 1-1 (+2)
All Time H2H Regular Season (1-0 Sharks)
All Time H2H Post Season (0-0)

The game we've all been waiting for features the league's top two teams and even with CLO Collins not coming in at 2-0 it still has the potential to be one of the best regular season games ever. Both teams have scored at least 120 points per game in the first two weeks and if you don't believe there's a big time rivalry here, then I guess you think the Seahawks-49ers is just a game. All offseason people have been talking about how great CLO Collins team was while disregarding the defending champion Miami Sharks, so believe me when I say this game has been circled on the Sharks' calendar for a while. This is a clash of the titans featuring top of the line fantasy stars and with the Miami Sharks having Josh Gordon returning to the line up to replace Kenny Britt they should be even more dangerous than the previous two weeks. This game is a true coin flip and very well could be a preview of the Ultimate Dynasty Bowl II. I'll take the Miami Sharks 127-125
Difference Maker: TE Jimmy Graham, Miami Sharks - Jimmy showed why he's the #1 tight end last Sunday and this is the one position where the Sharks and CLO Collins really differ. Look for Jimmy to have another big time game and lead the Sharks to a victory.

Red Rockets 0-2 AT Matt Boles 2-0 (-11)
All Time H2H Regular Season (1-0 Red Rockets)
All Time H2H Post Season (0-0)

So the biggest early season surprise without question is that Matt Boles is sitting at 2-0 with two wins over quality opponents (BSL, Kory) and now they're favored to get to 3-0. If this game was based on who pays more attention to their team John would win easily but unfortunately for him it's based on what the athletes do and even with possibly no Reggie Bush Sunday, Boles team is still a favorite over the Rockets. Although if the Rockets' franchise quarterback RG3 can get things going against Detroit and he catches a break at a position or two there is upset potential here, but give me Boles 88-77.
Difference Maker: WR Wes Welker, Matt Boles - Boles clearly has the superior receivers and with Welker matched up against Oakland, that should be good enough to get him the win over the Rockets and their young team.

Carolina Lions 1-1 AT Beat Skeet Leave 1-1 (-8)
All Time H2H Regular Season (2-0 Lions)
All Time H2H Post Season (0-0)

The Lions have proved to be a pretty decent team even with their halfback duo being on the same team. Beat Skeet and Leave however has the chance to be a contending team and even with Spiller having yet another bad matchup and MJD possibly out they have the potential to put up solid points. This game is pretty close to being a toss up but at the end of the day I'll go with BSL 98-90.
Difference Maker: HB Alfred Morris, BSL - Morris, unlike Foster and Tate, doesn't share carries and the difference in this match up will be that BSL has 2-3 feature backs while the Lions have two halves of one.

Scott's Tots 1-1 AT Super Manning 1-1 (-13)
All Time H2H Regular Season (1-1)
All Time H2H Post Season (0-0)

Super Manning came out of week 1 flying high but it looked as though BSL was his kryptonite, so what should Phillip Bullock expect in Week 3? Well these are two teams built in dissimilar fashions, a Scott's Tots team that is solid but unspectacular at every position goes up against a team that may have some holes but has some big time fantasy studs. If Forte wasn't going against Pittsburgh I may be persuaded to give the Tots more of a look but give me Super Manning with Peyton and DT destroying Oakland and leading Super Manning to a 95-82 win.
Difference Maker: Demaryius Thomas, Super Manning - The receivers on Super Manning just blow the Tots away (even if Andre may be out for a concussion), and none more so than DT with his Oakland match up. He'll have a 20 point night and help Super Manning bounce back to 2-1.

Dynasty Kings 0-2 AT Kory Adams 1-1 (-27)
All Time H2H Regular Season (1-1)
All Time H2H Post Season (0-0)

Kory Adams is coming off an upset loss to Matt Boles but luckily for him there is no better rebound game than to play the Dynasty Kings. While the Kings have shown some life in their receiving core they are nowhere near ready to compete with an actual contending team like Kory Adams. Not much to say about this game except look for Kory to win this one 95-68.
Difference Maker: HB Adrian Peterson, Kory Adams - The Dynasty Kings could total their points from their runningbacks for the next three weeks and probably wouldn't score as much as AD in one week.

Purists 1-1 AT Goonsquad 1-1 (-9)
All Time H2H Regular Season (1-0-1 Purists)
All Time H2H Post Season (0-0)

This is a big time game for these two teams, to be a playoff contender you have to win against other playoff contenders. The Goonsquad are coming off an upset of the previously #1 ranked team if you were wondering if they were for real and they play against a Purist team that is too inconsistent to really pick here. As I said last week I think the Purists are more of a 2014 team when they get Harvin back healthy and their break out runners have another year under their belts while Goonsquad is one of my favorite sleeper teams. It'll be close but I've got to go with them 99-90.
Difference Maker: WR TY Hilton, Goonsquad - The main difference in this game is Tick's super sleeper Hilton has woke up while David Wilson should remain asleep against that vaunted Carolina front seven.

Power Rankings Week #3

1. Miami Sharks 2-0 Prv. #1B - Handled business against the Kings going over 120+, now get Josh Gordon back for their vaunted Week 3 match up against CLO Collins.

2. CLO Collins 1-1 Prv. #1A - Can't knock CLO down any farther than this as he scores 120 or more for the 2nd straight week. However he fails to match up with the Sharks in the TE spot and with one loss gets spotted at #2 behind them.

3. Beat Skeet Leave 1-1 Prv. #5 - Knocking off Super Manning allows him to rise right back up to the 3rd spot. Still has the nicest running back trio in the league.

4. Super Manning 1-1 Prv. #3 - Had a bad week at the wrong time but there's still no denying this team is stacked at the QB and WR positions. I still don't know why they haven't acquired Foster for a one year run yet.

5. Goon Squad 1-1 Prv. #9 - Pulled off the biggest upset of the year while producing 139 points, yeah that'll move you up the ranks pretty quick.

6. Matt Boles 2-0 Prv. #6 - I'm still not a full believer in Boles for three reasons, 1 I don't believe Reggie Bush stays healthy, 2 Tom Brady isn't the same without weapons, and 3 he manages his team as well as Rivera coaches the Panthers, but wins and losses don't lie and he's 2-0.

7. Kory Adams 1-1 Prv. #4 - He's still a very serious contender, just had a rough week, once Gronk gets back he'll be a lot more dangerous.

8. Purists 1-1 Prv. #8 - They are what they are this year, which is a very inconsistent team that is capable of going off for 100+ or scoring 60. David Wilson and no depth has them needing some serious luck to get in the mix this year.

9. Scott's Tots 1-1 Prv. #7 - Solid team needs to acquire a stud and could really contend.

10. Carolina Lions 1-1 Prv. #10 - Although he just beat Scott's Tots, I still can't move him any higher until he gets his running back situation taken care of.  Rodgers and Tate is a nice foundation for this team though.

11. Red Rockets 0-2 Prv. #11 - Needs to keep making deals and viewing his team with 2014 and beyond in mind. Nice trade dealing the 49ers D for a 2015 1st.

12. Dynasty Kings 0-2 Prv. #12 - Same deal. Need to get a win at some point to avoid going winless though.

Week 1 Recap/Week 2 Preview/Power Rankings

Week 1 Recap: Top 5 Story Lines

1. Super Manning sets new record for a single game with 158 point outburst led by a ridiculous 46 points from Peyton.

2. The Sharks and CLO Collins are who we thought they were both posting 120+ points games in easy opening day victories for the two favorites.

3. The Dynasty Kings were not the lowest point producer of the week (besting both the Goonsquad and Purists) and aren't (as much of) a cake walk as teams around the league had hoped. His young receivers showed great promise but he's still very much the favorite to finish last in 2013.

4. Contrary to popular belief the Purists may still be a year away from being a true contender. While it's too early to bury Wilson and Miller (they're still good bets to break out at some point), their less than stellar starts coupled with Anthony's thin roster is going to make it hard to consistently produce points week to week.

5. Beat Skeet Leave looks to be the best team that took a loss this week but they shouldn't be too worried there aren't many weeks where Spiller will only put up 3.

Week 2 Match Up Preview

Miami Sharks 1-0 AT Dynasty Kings 0-1 (+37)
All Time H2H Regular Season (1-1)
All Time H2H Post Season (1-0 Sharks)

The Sharks continue on their 2012 playoff reunion tour with another postseason rematch, this time with big time rival the Dynasty Kings. There's a lot of bad blood after the Sharks beat the Kings to advance to Ultimate Dynasty Bowl I but unfortunately it doesn't look as though the Kings have the fire power to compete. While the Kings did put up 74 points last week, that would be a disastrous week for the Sharks and with no running back producers to speak of the Kings look like they'll be taking another L this week. On a side note with a win here the Sharks will have won 6 straight which will tie Kory Adams' all time league record for winning streaks. They will tie the record winning 107-70.
Difference Maker: HB Jamaal Charles, Miami Sharks - Could pick either halfback here but what it boils down to is the points the Sharks receive from their tailbacks is where they will easily pull apart from the Kings.

Goon Squad 0-1 AT CLO Collins 1-0 (-21)
All Time H2H Regular Season (2-0 CLO Collins)
All Time H2H Post Season (0-0)

Tick's sleeper team looked as though it was still asleep last Sunday and now unfortunately for him, the juggernaut team CLO Collins is coming to town. The Goon Squad boasts a very solid team but they are seemingly overmatched at every position this week. Look for CLO to advance to 2-0 while Tick will find himself in an 0-2 hole he'll have to dig out of quickly or watch his playoff hopes fade away. CLO Collins 110-89.

Difference Maker: WR Calvin Johnson, CLO Collins - Believe it or not CLO and GS aren't too far off at the running back slots but where things really change is the talent CLO boasts at receiver. I expect Megatron to bounce back big time and lead CLO to a victory.

Super Manning 1-0 AT Beat Skeet Leave 0-1 (+4)
H2H Regular Season (1-1)
H2H Post Season (0-0)

Oh man, easily game of the week right here. Super Manning comes off a record breaking performance and are now matched up with everyone's preseason favorite to win the UFL division. BSL suffered a tough upset loss and now desperately need to win to avoid falling 2 games back in the division already. Phil is looking to show he was overlooked and is a real contender while BSL is hoping to rebound and show the Ultimate Dynasty world he is still the class of this division. BSL has the edge in running backs while Super Manning has the edge in receivers. I expect this one to come down to the wire but I just can't pick against someone who just scored 158 points give me Super Manning 111-107.
Difference Maker: HB Darren McFadden, Super Manning - In a juicy match up with the Jaguars, McFadden will put up nice enough numbers to have Phil's backs keep pace with Andrews and allow his receivers to leave Andrew in the dust.

Matt Boles 1-0 AT Kory Adams 1-0 (+2)
All Time H2H Regular Season (1-0 Boles)
All Time H2H Post Season (0-0)

The second big time match up of week 2 pairs a couple of strong playoff contenders coming off big time week one wins. Kory took care of what everyone assumed would be his main competition for the Wildcard in the Purists and Boles upset BSL. Now matched up together these two teams seem very evenly matched. If the man formerly known as CJ2k can get going then I seriously think Boles wins this in a tightly contested match up. Boles 102-100.
Difference Maker: HB Chris Johnson, Matt Boles - CJ lines up against a Houston D that seemed to have some holes in it on Monday night. I think Johnson goes over 100 yards with a pair of TD's to help Boles to a victory.

Scott's Tots 1-0 AT Carolina Lions 0-1 (+10)
All Time H2H Regular Season  (1-1)
All Time H2H Post Season (0-0)

This is a big divisional game between two overlooked teams that no one is giving much of a shot to win the UFL. The Tots boast a very balanced solid team overall but lack the super star power needed to be a top team, however if they can start out 2-0 it'd be a big boost to their chance to find a way to sneak into the dance. The Lions on the other hand are still in good shape as they were expected to lose to a team like the Sharks, but their 2013 season starts now. They have to beat teams like Scott's Tots if they want to make a return trip to the postseason. I think the Tots are too good overall to fall to the Lions this week, 90-80 win for the Tots.
Difference Maker: Ben Tate, Carolina Lions - Rare for the predicted losers player to be the difference maker, but as long as Foster and Tate are splitting carries and Luke is having to start both of them it really limits his overall scoring potential.

Purists 0-1 AT Rockets 0-1 (+15)
All Time H2H Regular Season (1-1)
All Time H2H Post Season (0-0)

Well that didn't go as planned, the much hyped Purists ended up finishing Week 1 with the lowest score in the league. As stated above they have the look and feel of a team that is a year away, but lucky for them this Sunday they go up against a team that is definitely a year or two or three from competing. Give me the former Bipolar Bears here 86-71.
Difference Maker: HB David Wilson/HB Lamar Miller, Purists - If Anthony can get some resemblance of solid running back production from either of these two he'll have no problem cruising past the Rockets.

Power Rankings Week #2

1A. CLO Collins 1-0 Prv. #1A - Scoring 120+ points with disappointing performances from studs Megatron and Dez show why he tops these rankings.

1B. Miami Sharks 1-0 Prv. #1B - Like CLO topped 120 points, also like CLO has potential to be even more dangerous once Josh Gordon returns.

3. Super Manning 1-0 Prv. #7 - Setting the scoring record in week 1 will move you up the rankings pretty quick. Still lacks a stud halfback but the QB and WR's are as good as it gets.

4. Kory Adams 1-0 Prv. #5 - Beating the Purists without even breaking a sweat, Kory looks like a serious contender to be playing in late December.

5. Beat Skeet Leave 0-1 Prv. #3 - A big match up looms with Super Manning in week 2 but this team still has as good a running back core as any team in the league and should be in the playoff discussion.

6. Matt Boles 1-0 Prv. #9 - The change of scenery for some of Boles' players paid off big time, Bush in Detroit and Welker in Denver have him looking like a potential playoff contender.

7. Scott's Tots 1-0 Prv. #8 - Quietly has an insanely solid team that can go toe to toe with anybody any week. Lacking studs still has this team on the outside looking in.

8. Purists 0-1 Prv. #4 - Rough opening day for Ant, team is still loaded with potential but looks like it may take longer to realize it than expected.

9. Goon Squad 0-1 Prv. #6 - If you want to emerge as the sleeper team and make the dance you can't afford to drop games against any of the non elites. Lynch and Ridley is still one of the best 1-2 punches in the league and an upset of CLO Collins could get this season right back on track.

10. Carolina Lions 0-1 Prv. #10 - Have to be ecstatic about what he sees in Ben Tate, but what does that mean for Foster? Starting two runners from the same team is a hard way to be successful but this team still has a good enough roster to sneakily compete for the division if he can get the running back situation squared away. (Redman isn't the answer man)

11. Red Rockets 0-1 Prv. #11 - John knew this was a process when he built his team this way and he'll just have to stay patient and hope his young players progress.

12. Dynasty Kings 0-1 Prv. #12 - Have to be happy with week 1 scored about 30 more points than people thought they could, but still when 75-80 points is your ceiling you can't win many games check back in 2014.
