Week 1 Recap/Week 2 Preview/Power Rankings

Week 1 Recap: Top 5 Story Lines

1. Super Manning sets new record for a single game with 158 point outburst led by a ridiculous 46 points from Peyton.

2. The Sharks and CLO Collins are who we thought they were both posting 120+ points games in easy opening day victories for the two favorites.

3. The Dynasty Kings were not the lowest point producer of the week (besting both the Goonsquad and Purists) and aren't (as much of) a cake walk as teams around the league had hoped. His young receivers showed great promise but he's still very much the favorite to finish last in 2013.

4. Contrary to popular belief the Purists may still be a year away from being a true contender. While it's too early to bury Wilson and Miller (they're still good bets to break out at some point), their less than stellar starts coupled with Anthony's thin roster is going to make it hard to consistently produce points week to week.

5. Beat Skeet Leave looks to be the best team that took a loss this week but they shouldn't be too worried there aren't many weeks where Spiller will only put up 3.

Week 2 Match Up Preview

Miami Sharks 1-0 AT Dynasty Kings 0-1 (+37)
All Time H2H Regular Season (1-1)
All Time H2H Post Season (1-0 Sharks)

The Sharks continue on their 2012 playoff reunion tour with another postseason rematch, this time with big time rival the Dynasty Kings. There's a lot of bad blood after the Sharks beat the Kings to advance to Ultimate Dynasty Bowl I but unfortunately it doesn't look as though the Kings have the fire power to compete. While the Kings did put up 74 points last week, that would be a disastrous week for the Sharks and with no running back producers to speak of the Kings look like they'll be taking another L this week. On a side note with a win here the Sharks will have won 6 straight which will tie Kory Adams' all time league record for winning streaks. They will tie the record winning 107-70.
Difference Maker: HB Jamaal Charles, Miami Sharks - Could pick either halfback here but what it boils down to is the points the Sharks receive from their tailbacks is where they will easily pull apart from the Kings.

Goon Squad 0-1 AT CLO Collins 1-0 (-21)
All Time H2H Regular Season (2-0 CLO Collins)
All Time H2H Post Season (0-0)

Tick's sleeper team looked as though it was still asleep last Sunday and now unfortunately for him, the juggernaut team CLO Collins is coming to town. The Goon Squad boasts a very solid team but they are seemingly overmatched at every position this week. Look for CLO to advance to 2-0 while Tick will find himself in an 0-2 hole he'll have to dig out of quickly or watch his playoff hopes fade away. CLO Collins 110-89.

Difference Maker: WR Calvin Johnson, CLO Collins - Believe it or not CLO and GS aren't too far off at the running back slots but where things really change is the talent CLO boasts at receiver. I expect Megatron to bounce back big time and lead CLO to a victory.

Super Manning 1-0 AT Beat Skeet Leave 0-1 (+4)
H2H Regular Season (1-1)
H2H Post Season (0-0)

Oh man, easily game of the week right here. Super Manning comes off a record breaking performance and are now matched up with everyone's preseason favorite to win the UFL division. BSL suffered a tough upset loss and now desperately need to win to avoid falling 2 games back in the division already. Phil is looking to show he was overlooked and is a real contender while BSL is hoping to rebound and show the Ultimate Dynasty world he is still the class of this division. BSL has the edge in running backs while Super Manning has the edge in receivers. I expect this one to come down to the wire but I just can't pick against someone who just scored 158 points give me Super Manning 111-107.
Difference Maker: HB Darren McFadden, Super Manning - In a juicy match up with the Jaguars, McFadden will put up nice enough numbers to have Phil's backs keep pace with Andrews and allow his receivers to leave Andrew in the dust.

Matt Boles 1-0 AT Kory Adams 1-0 (+2)
All Time H2H Regular Season (1-0 Boles)
All Time H2H Post Season (0-0)

The second big time match up of week 2 pairs a couple of strong playoff contenders coming off big time week one wins. Kory took care of what everyone assumed would be his main competition for the Wildcard in the Purists and Boles upset BSL. Now matched up together these two teams seem very evenly matched. If the man formerly known as CJ2k can get going then I seriously think Boles wins this in a tightly contested match up. Boles 102-100.
Difference Maker: HB Chris Johnson, Matt Boles - CJ lines up against a Houston D that seemed to have some holes in it on Monday night. I think Johnson goes over 100 yards with a pair of TD's to help Boles to a victory.

Scott's Tots 1-0 AT Carolina Lions 0-1 (+10)
All Time H2H Regular Season  (1-1)
All Time H2H Post Season (0-0)

This is a big divisional game between two overlooked teams that no one is giving much of a shot to win the UFL. The Tots boast a very balanced solid team overall but lack the super star power needed to be a top team, however if they can start out 2-0 it'd be a big boost to their chance to find a way to sneak into the dance. The Lions on the other hand are still in good shape as they were expected to lose to a team like the Sharks, but their 2013 season starts now. They have to beat teams like Scott's Tots if they want to make a return trip to the postseason. I think the Tots are too good overall to fall to the Lions this week, 90-80 win for the Tots.
Difference Maker: Ben Tate, Carolina Lions - Rare for the predicted losers player to be the difference maker, but as long as Foster and Tate are splitting carries and Luke is having to start both of them it really limits his overall scoring potential.

Purists 0-1 AT Rockets 0-1 (+15)
All Time H2H Regular Season (1-1)
All Time H2H Post Season (0-0)

Well that didn't go as planned, the much hyped Purists ended up finishing Week 1 with the lowest score in the league. As stated above they have the look and feel of a team that is a year away, but lucky for them this Sunday they go up against a team that is definitely a year or two or three from competing. Give me the former Bipolar Bears here 86-71.
Difference Maker: HB David Wilson/HB Lamar Miller, Purists - If Anthony can get some resemblance of solid running back production from either of these two he'll have no problem cruising past the Rockets.

Power Rankings Week #2

1A. CLO Collins 1-0 Prv. #1A - Scoring 120+ points with disappointing performances from studs Megatron and Dez show why he tops these rankings.

1B. Miami Sharks 1-0 Prv. #1B - Like CLO topped 120 points, also like CLO has potential to be even more dangerous once Josh Gordon returns.

3. Super Manning 1-0 Prv. #7 - Setting the scoring record in week 1 will move you up the rankings pretty quick. Still lacks a stud halfback but the QB and WR's are as good as it gets.

4. Kory Adams 1-0 Prv. #5 - Beating the Purists without even breaking a sweat, Kory looks like a serious contender to be playing in late December.

5. Beat Skeet Leave 0-1 Prv. #3 - A big match up looms with Super Manning in week 2 but this team still has as good a running back core as any team in the league and should be in the playoff discussion.

6. Matt Boles 1-0 Prv. #9 - The change of scenery for some of Boles' players paid off big time, Bush in Detroit and Welker in Denver have him looking like a potential playoff contender.

7. Scott's Tots 1-0 Prv. #8 - Quietly has an insanely solid team that can go toe to toe with anybody any week. Lacking studs still has this team on the outside looking in.

8. Purists 0-1 Prv. #4 - Rough opening day for Ant, team is still loaded with potential but looks like it may take longer to realize it than expected.

9. Goon Squad 0-1 Prv. #6 - If you want to emerge as the sleeper team and make the dance you can't afford to drop games against any of the non elites. Lynch and Ridley is still one of the best 1-2 punches in the league and an upset of CLO Collins could get this season right back on track.

10. Carolina Lions 0-1 Prv. #10 - Have to be ecstatic about what he sees in Ben Tate, but what does that mean for Foster? Starting two runners from the same team is a hard way to be successful but this team still has a good enough roster to sneakily compete for the division if he can get the running back situation squared away. (Redman isn't the answer man)

11. Red Rockets 0-1 Prv. #11 - John knew this was a process when he built his team this way and he'll just have to stay patient and hope his young players progress.

12. Dynasty Kings 0-1 Prv. #12 - Have to be happy with week 1 scored about 30 more points than people thought they could, but still when 75-80 points is your ceiling you can't win many games check back in 2014.

Week 1 Preview/Power Rankings

Week 1 Match Up Preview

Carolina Lions 0-0 AT Miami Sharks 0-0 (-15)
All Time H2H Regular Season (1-0 Lions)
All Time H2H Post Season (1-0 Sharks)

In a rematch of Ultimate Dynasty Bowl I, the Lions seek revenge for the championship they lost, while the Sharks hope to begin their title defense with their 5th straight victory. This game has a shoot out type feel to it and won't be decided until the conclusion of the 2nd Monday Night Football game due to the Lions rolling out four Texan/Charger starters (HB Foster, WR V.Brown, TE Daniels, D Texans). While the Lions definitely have big point potential from Rodgers, Foster, and Roddy, the Sharks have a big time advantage at their HB2 slot (Ray Rice VS Ronnie Hillman) and their TE slot (Jimmy Graham VS Owen Daniels) which should allow them to emerge from this Week 1 battle victorious. Sharks start off 2013 the same way they ended 2012, defeating the Lions, 107-88.
Difference Maker: HB Ray Rice, Miami Sharks - The Stud halfback recently dealt from the Lions to the Sharks will ironically make the biggest difference in this one as he carves up the Denver Defense on opening night.

Super Manning 0-0 AT Red Rockets 0-0 (+27)
All Time H2H Regular Season (1-0 Red Rockets)
All Time H2H Post Season (0-0)

In these teams' sole meeting last year the Red Rockets destroyed Super Manning 104-64, what a difference a year makes. Opening week finds Super Manning in a great position to return the favor. Phil boasts a line up that is superior to the Red Rockets at arguably every position other than QB. While I could see Ahmad Bradshaw having a nice day for John against the Raiders it won't be enough as Phil's trio of stud receivers (D.Thomas, Fitzgerald, A.Johnson) should make for a significant point gap between the two teams. Super Manning snags his 5th consecutive victory with a 97-70 win.
Difference Maker: WR Andre Johnson, Super Manning - Andre3000 should have a field day against San Diego's Defense, a 150 yard 2 TD type game is certainly possible to seal the win on Monday Night.

Kings 0-0 AT CLO Collins 0-0 (-71)
All Time H2H Regular Season (1-0 CLO Collins)
All Time H2H Post Season (0-0)

Two teams that both finished one game short of the Ultimate Dynasty Bowl now find themselves headed in very opposite directions. CLO Collins is the prime favorite to win Ultimate Dynasty Bowl II, while the Kings pulled the plug and went full rebuild mode. This game is going to show the stark differences between these two franchises. CLO Collins is not just superior at every position when compared to the Kings, but far far far superior. It will take a 1980 US Olympic hockey team "Do You Believe in Miracles?" type miracle for the Kings to even stay within 30 points. This point spread may very well not be high enough but I have CLO Collins winning in impressive fashion 118-41.
Difference Maker: HB LeSean McCoy, CLO Collins - Coin flip between Richardson and McCoy but think McCoy has good shot of possibly tripling the combined score of the Kings' running backs.

Goon Squad 0-0 AT Scott's Tots 0-0 (+3)
All Time H2H Regular Season (1-0 Tots)
All Time H2H Post Season (0-0)

Game of the week potential right here. These teams come into 2013 with very real playoff hopes and two pretty evenly matched squads. Both teams are taking advantage of the Patriots-Bills match up which should prove to be very beneficial for any Patriot starters (Ridley (GS), Vereen (Tots), Sudfeld (Tots), Patriot's D (Tots)). The wildcard in this game is actually the Patriot's defense, as they have unreal potential against the undrafted rookie Tuel. This game is going to be sick but give me the Goon Squad narrowly edging out the Tots 98-95.
Difference Maker: HB Marshawn Lynch, Goon Squad - The biggest match up differential is Lynch against Lacy, Lynch should find a pretty good amount of room to run against Carolina while Lacy should struggle against that San Francisco front.

Boles 0-0 AT Beat Skeet Leave 0-0 (-11)
All Time H2H Regular Season (1-0 BSL)
All Time H2H Post Season (0-0)

This should be a pretty good show down and a great 1st test for a Beat Skeet Leave squad that has playoff aspirations this year. Boles has a slight edge at receiver here in my opinion with Nicks and Welker edging Garcon and Colston just barely, but Beat Skeet Leave has a larger advantage at running back featuring Spiller, Morris, and MJD. In the end I think Beat Skeet Leave wins a fairly close one 99-88.
Difference Maker: HB Maurice Jones-Drew, Beat Skeet Leave - If MJD is back to performing at HB1 levels then Andrew will have no problem cruising past Boles, but if he shows some rust and isn't the same runner then this game will be a lot closer.

 Kory Adams 0-0 AT Purists 0-0 (-5)
All Time H2H Regular Season (1-0 Kory)
All Time H2H Post Season (0-0)

If you ask around the league who the favorite is for the Wildcard playoff spot 99.9% of the answers you see are going to be either Kory or the Purists, with that being said this very well could be the most important game of the year for these teams. Both feature what could be championship caliber rosters and it's hard to really get a read on this game but here's what I see happening; Brees will start on fire, Newton will start slow against the vaunted Seattle D, Peterson-SJax and Martin-Wilson will score pretty similar, Marshall will slightly edge VJax, while Wayne slightly edges Givens, the tight ends and defenses in this one are a crap shoot, James Jones should be decent but could get blown out by Lamar Miller. Give me the Purists 100-95 in a game that's not over until late Sunday night.
Difference Maker: HB Lamar Miller, Purists - The obvious difference maker in this game if Miller breaks out the Purists will defeat Kory, if he does not then this game becomes even more of a crapshoot with the edge going to Kory Adams. I for one am a Miller believer so I expect him to do enough to get the Purists the victory.

Power Rankings

1A. CLO Collins - Kaepernick, Richardson, McCoy, Mega, Dez, Cruz, Gonzo. Team has unreal ceiling week to week.

1B. Miami Sharks - Vick, Rice, Charles, Green, Julio, Gordon, Graham. The Sharks are built in a very similar fashion to CLO Collins and leaves no doubt that these two teams are in a tier of their own.

3. Beat Skeet Leave - One of the biggest recipes for success in fantasy is a strong running back stable and Andrew has put together one of the strongest. Spiller, Morris, and MJD give this team a great shot at winning the UFL Division.

4. Purists - Finally an injury goes in favor of the Purists, with Andre Brown down the sky is the limit for David Wilson. Even with no proven WR2 and very little depth this is the type of team that if he can get in and get hot can win this league.

5. Kory Adams - Once Gronk returns this team has all the talent needed to challenge the Sharks for the NFL Division.

6. Goon Squad - The more I look at this team the more I like it. The Ridley-Lynch combo has sleeper written all over this team and someone who could definitely challenge for the wildcard.

7. Super Manning - If either of McFadden or Mathews produce then Phil can give Andrew a serious run for the UFL division.

8. Scott's Tots - Solid team but lacks big time studs to really be a difference maker.

9. Matt Boles - A solid aging roster, will be competitive but lacks wow factor and reliable in season management.

10. Carolina Lions - Made some moves to make themselves compete longer by swapping out Rice with Rodgers that will cost him short term.

11. Red Rockets - Has potential to rise from the ashes eventually with an RG3, Bernard, Bell, T.Smith, Austin, and Maclin core, just not in 2013.

12. Dynasty Kings - Absolutely no shot in 2013 but not a bad young core at all and (7) 2014 1sts, as well as (5) 2015 1sts. This team has the potential to be scary good before long.

                    Dynasty Kings 2013 UDFFL Predictions

NFL

1. Miami Sharks (11-3)- Great team, good depth. 3 losses come from QB situation.
2. Kory Adams (9-5) *WC*- Strong team, might have trouble getting W's against the top tier teams.
3. Matt Boles (5-9)- Not a bad team. Lack of depth and in season management won't get them far.
4. Dynasty Kings (1-13)- Will be lucky to win a game, but I decided to humor myself.

UFL

1. BSL (11-3)- Well rounded team, need Garcon or Patterson to step up for WR depth.
2. Tots (8-6)- Love the Tots depth, however I can't see them cracking more than 8 wins.
3. Super Manning (8-6)- I could be way off on this. All depends on his pair of boom or bust HBs.
4. Carolina Lions (4-10)- I don't see this team being successful despite having Rodgers and Foster.

AFL

1. CLO (10-4)- May be the best team on paper, however I feel like they will lose a couple close ones.
2. BP Bears (9-5)- Team could prove me wrong and be #1. Previous bad luck holding them back.
3. Goonsquad (7-7)- I see this team as a huge sleeper. Kept it safe in my predictions though.
4. Red Rockets (2-12)- Just not a complete team. Still going to scare some of the good teams with close games.

1. Miami Sharks -109
4. Kory Adams - 101                         1. Miami Sharks- 107
                                                                                                                  *CHAMPION BSL*
2. BSL - 97                                         2. BSL - 111
3. CLO Collins
- 96

BSL is a sure contender. With strong in season management they will find a way to win Ultimate Dynasty Bowl 2.

Training Camp Power Rankings

It seems like every time I tell you guys I'm going to do power rankings and I get started on them, someone thinks it's funny to make a blockbuster trade. That's why I'm releasing power rankings today all together without telling anyone.

THE FAVORITES

1A. Miami Sharks - When you have Rodgers and Graham as your bookends with studs like Charles, AJG, and Julio in between, then your name will get thrown around a lot in Ultimate Dynasty Bowl II talks.

1B. CLO Collins - TRich/McCoy combined with the trio of Megatron/Dez/Cruz with a QB rotation of Staff/Kaep and one last run from elite tight end Tony Gonzalez. Yep this is the tier of the super teams.

3. BiPolar Bears - This team has ridiculous upside there's a chance that everyone in his starting line up could be top 5 at their positions. However this upside also coincides with the fact his team is not as proven as the other teams in this tier. Anthony's 2013 title hopes rely heavily on Wilson and Miller living up to the hype.

4. Beat Skeet Leave - Making a blockbuster deal for Spiller catapulted this team from the back end of the contender tier all the way into the favorites tier. Spiller/Morris/MJD have the potential to be as good as any runningback stable in the league depending on MJD's health and with the rest of the roster pretty sharp as well that should be good enough to have BSL in the championship discussion.

CONTENDERS (If they catch a break)

5. Kory Adams - Brees/Peterson/Gronk is arguably the best big three in the league and I could definitely see this team being a big time contender this year. The Gronk injuries though and the rest of the roster being a little lackluster has this team slotted in this tier but they are no doubt a break away from being in the title discussion.

6. Super Manning - A stud QB and three arguably WR1's has this team a break away as well from having championship aspirations. McFadden and Mathews are big time question marks but if one of them comes through then Super Manning should be neck and neck with BSL for the division crown.

7. Carolina Lions - This team is built around two stud backs Foster and Rice, not a bad way to build a playoff team. If the Lions receivers come to play and the backs stay healthy they have a solid chance at punching a ticket to the dance.

Hail Mary's (Would need multiple breaks to jump in the mix)

8. Port City Goonsquad - One thing holding back Goonsquad is the division they play in, it's going to be hard to finish in front of CLO or BiPolar Bears, but a trio of Luck, Lynch, and Ridley is a huge upgrade from last year. With a couple of breaks it wouldn't be crazy to see Goonsquad breakthrough and be a sleeper for the playoffs but as for now they remain multiple breaks away.

9. Scott's Tots - This team is solid at every position but lacks a big time stud, unless RG3 returns to full health and Murray breaks out, it looks like this team is doomed to finish middle of the pack and perhaps another last place finish in the UFL division.

10. Matt Boles - This is probably his last shot before this team is past its prime, Brady, CJ1K, Reggie, Shorts, Nicks, Welker is still a solid team and with good management and, as is the theme with this group, multiple breaks they could enter into the playoff conversation. Most likely they will finish just good enough to keep themselves out of the top part of the draft.

Lottery Bound (Need a miracle of epic proportions to compete)

11. Red Rockets - The good news is the players on this team are for the most part very young and many of them have upside, the bad news is I don't think this team can come close to holding a candle to any of the contending teams yet, and the even worse news is they do not own their draft pick for 2014 so if it is a bad season it's all for nothing. A (Bernard, Ivory, Lacy, Austin, Smith) core definitely has some future potential though.

On The Clock (Time to start looking at 2014 prospects)

12. Dynasty Kings - What the Kings are doing is obvious which is why it is no surprise to see them down here in their own tier. However having eleven 1st's in the next two (reportedly stacked) draft classes along with a solid young nucleus of wide outs (Hopkins, Randle, Floyd, Jeffrey) signifies a bright future ahead for the Kings. When all the top teams are falling off in a couple of years this team should be rising fast and has potential to be in a class all its own.

BiPolar Bears Star Tight End Charged with Murder

As most of you know by now BiPolar Bears TE1 Aaron Hernandez has been charged with murder. This most likely will end his football career at the age of 23. Losing such a big dynasty asset like that is a tough blow no matter who you are but at least Anthony has the young Kyle Rudolph ready to step up in his TE1 position.

#12 Red Rockets

The Red Rockets went 8-6 in 2012 and barely missed punching a ticket to the playoffs. They had a very respectable season, however owner John Gallimore was far from satisfied with this result and felt as though his team was too far away from really competing with the top teams in the league and opted to blow it up and build for the future. This strategy finds the Red Rockets as one of the league's top favorites...for the #1 pick in 2014. Let's take a look at Mr. Gallimore's team.

QB1: Sam Bradford Rnk. #12 - Bradford undoubtedly offers upside but heading into 2013 he is currently far and away the worst starting QB in the Ultimate Dynasty League. The gap between a Romo and a Bradford is pretty wide let alone the gap between a Brees and a Bradford. Unless/until Bradford breaks out in 2013 the Rockets will be facing a big time disadvantage every week at the quarterback spot.

HB1: Marshawn Lynch Rnk. #3 - The most recent acquisition by the Rockets goes against their rebuilding plan to a degree as Lynch is already 27 with a good bit of mileage on him but for 2013 he's definitely still a capable HB1 in the league. While I personally don't have Lynch ranked quite as high as three, I think it's easy to say if the Rockets win some games this year it'll be due in large part to Beast Mode.

HB2: Stevan Ridley Rnk. #3 - Not a terrible 1-2 punch at runningback for the Rockets if the rest of the team was solid this is the kind of duo that could have you in the wildcard hunt. Ridley doesn't offer much upside but as long as he remains starting he has a pretty high floor. However Ridley definitely has to deal with the concern of Vereen eating into his touches but until further notice he's the goaline back in Foxboro.

FLEX: Ben Tate? Rnk. #12 - The Rockets lack a realistic flex option with players like LaFell, S.Hill, and Sanders in the mix, I think Tate has the most upside of all of them in 2013 if Foster struggles with injuries but as it currently stands the Red Rockets have the worst flex options in the league and it's not too close.

WR1: Torrey Smith Rnk. #11 - Out of the WR1's in the league Torrey Smith ranks pretty close to the bottom. In my opinion Smith would be an okay low end WR2 option for a team. This is another position that the Red Rockets will be coming up short at week in and week out.

WR2: Tavon Austin Rnk. #10 - I honestly think Austin is closer to 12th out of the WR2's in my league and would barely want him as a flex option in his rookie year. Austin has potential to one day be a solid fantasy contributor (I think a Welker type low end WR1, high end WR2 is his potential ceiling one day, while his floor is a better Dexter McCluster) but for 2013 he won't help the Rockets too much.

TE1: Brandon Myers Rnk. #10 - Myers is serviceable with little upside. I don't really have anything else to write about him.

NOTABLE BENCH: WR Stephen Hill,  WR Emmanuel Sanders, QB Geno Smith - The bench of the Red Rockets is very unexciting with upside players few and far between. Hill has the measurables and even though he is beyond raw he could in a few years emerge as a fantasy contributor. Sanders is still young and could emerge as nice WR3 option this year as the 2nd option in the Steelers passing attack. Geno Smith could one day emerge as a good QB2 and a nice back up or rotation option for the Rockets.

2013 OUTLOOK: Due to the Rockets QB and receivers as well as how far the top 2 teams in their division are ahead of them, they have little to no chance to make any noise in the 2013 season. It would take some savvy trades to get this team in position to be a 5-6 win team this season which just isn't worth doing for Mr. Gallimore.

FUTURE OUTLOOK: Here's what the Rockets currently have so far on their rebuilding, a potential QB1 in Sam Bradford that has top 5 upside one day, a very solid and young HB2 in Stevan Ridley, a good HB1 in Marshawn Lynch who in future years should be at least a HB2 option, Tavon Austin and Torrey Smith who are solid WR2 options of the future (maybe even WR1 for Austin), and they have Ben Tate who could emerge as HB2-HB1 depending on what team he signs with next offseason. Not too bad, they are going to need to really draft well over the next few years but at least they most likely will be having a top pick in 2014 which should yield a potential stud as well as they will be getting first dibs on the waiver wire for most of 2013. This team can be turned around in a couple of years but John is going to have to make some shrewd moves and put a lot of effort into his team to eventually get the Rockets to the promised land.

Draft Grades

Red Rockets Grade: B
1.01 - WR T.Austin, Rams
1.02 - HB E.Lacy, Packers
1.03 - HB G.Bernard, Bengals
3.26 - QB G.Smith, Jets
3.28 - TE G.Escobar, Cowboys

MG's Take: Good but not great draft for Mr. Gallimore. I would have liked to seen him walk away with either Bell or Ball (or really both) with one of the top 3 picks as they seem to be the runningbacks with the clearest paths to a starting role. I'm not so sure Bernard can ever be a feature back in this league or anything more than a HB2/Flex in fantasy at best. The injury news on Lacy sours me on him a bit as does the Green Bay landing spot where he will be paired with fellow rookie Franklin, it just seems like it could be a nasty runningback by committee to me. At his best though Lacy does have potential to be a low end fantasy HB1 but I just would be surprised to see it happen. Austin is the wildcard here, it's hard to peg his future, does he have the speed to be special in the NFL? Of course no doubt but the question is does he have the size? I'm not so sure on this one but I think the Rams will do everything they can to get this kid the ball and he should end up being a poor man's Percy Harvin and a solid WR2 in fantasy. As for Geno, I think he could start for the Jets as soon as this year but he's no more than a low end QB2 with in my opinion not much upside to be a QB1. All in all I think the Rockets got some solid role players and pieces but they're gonna have to be back at it in 2014 to find some studs. I give this draft a B but I think it's a step in the right direction for the Rockets.

Miami Sharks Grade: A
1.04 - HB L.Bell, Steelers
1.09 - WR J.Hunter, Titans
2.15 - WR K.Allen, Chargers
2.21 - HB C.Michael, Seahawks
3.29 - WR D.Rogers, Bills

MG's Take: Obviously this will be biased cause I picked these players originally so of course I like them but here it goes. Scoring the only runningback in the draft guaranteed a starting spot with the 4th pick was a huge get especially with the landing spot being Pittsburgh. Honestly if I would have had the top pick I still would have taken Bell he's going to get the opportunity to be a feature back. Snagging Hunter with the 9th pick was solid I would have liked a better landing spot but I think there's a good chance Britt could be let go by next year which would thrust Hunter into the WR1 spot for Tennessee. I love the kids measurables and if he can get back to pre ACL tear form he can develop into a fantasy WR1. Keenan Allen has to be considered a steal in the mid 2nd round he should have every opportunity to carve out a solid role in that San Diego offense and before his injury mess during combine season he was being talked about as potentially a 1st round pick in the NFL draft. Christine Michael, turn on the film this guy in my opinion is the best runningback talent wise of this entire class. While this landing spot is gonna put me in a position where I have to wait on Michael for a year or two he could be huge if/when the Seahawks move on from Lynch. Da'Rick Rogers was just a flier 3rd round pick but he does have enough talent to be a WR1 for the Bills but with his character concerns it's a long shot. Overall scoring a feature back, two potential fantasy WR1's and a runningback with upside I can't really see anyone giving this draft anything less than an A.

BiPolar Bears Grade: A
1.05 - HB M.Ball, Broncos
2.20 - WR A.Dobson, Patriots
3.24 - HB L.Murray, Raiders

MG's Take: I'm a big fan of Ant's draft, I think Le'Veon Bell and Montee Ball should have gone 1-2 in this draft. Ball is in a perfect situation and a situation that turned Knowshon Moreno and Willis McGahee into high end HB2 options last year. Ball has upside to be a high end HB2 or even HB1 as soon as this season if things fall the right way. Getting a potential HB1 at the 5 spot is good enough to put you in the A range and when you can add to that a solid speed upside receiver going to an offensive juggernaut with a late 2nd round pick then you have the makings of a very good draft. I like Latavius Murray as an upside pick the only thing is I don't know if he had to deal a 2014 2nd and 2016 2nd to get him but if he gets a shot he could be more than worth it. A young up and coming team snags some more solid young potential studs this draft grades out as an easy A.

Dynasty Kings Grade: A-

1.06 - WR D.Hopkins, Texans
1.10 - HB J.Franklin, Packers
2.12 - HB Z.Stacy, Rams
2.14 - HB D.Robinson, Jaguars
3.32 - WR T.Williams

MG's Take:  I love Deandre Hopkins and think he is the heir apparent to Andre Johnson as well as a more polished receiver than Patterson so I like the pick there and think the kid has WR1 upside in 3 years or so. Jonathan Franklin is a solid pick as well and I think Lacy/Franklin are about 55/45 to be the man in Green Bay. Stacy is a good pick and has an okay chance to emerge in that crowded backfield, I may would have considered Allen or Michael at this spot instead as I think Allen is more of a sure thing and Michael has more upside if you can wait Lynch out. I originally wasn't too crazy about the Dernard Robinson pick but with the reports coming out of how Jacksonville is going to use him I think his upside is worth the risk here even if he probably could have been had a little later. Terrance Williams is a solid pick to wrap things up with as he may have a shot to replace Austin if the injury bug hits him again. Overall I give this draft an A- as there are a few other players I would have considered at a spot or two.

Beat Skeet Leave Grade: A-
1.07 - WR Cordarrelle Patterson, Vikings
2.19 - WR Markus Wheaton, Steelers
3.25 - HB Stepfan Taylor, Cardinals
3.34 - WR Stedman Bailey, Rams

MG's Take: Even though I think Patterson is extremely raw and it burns me up that he's wearing Moss' 84 in that picture, he was the right pick at the 7 spot. Patterson has Demaryius Thomas type upside and few receivers run better after the catch than he does. Markus Wheaton has electrifying speed and could emerge as the number 2 receiver there by 2014, the only thing that diminishes this pick a bit for me is the fact he could have paired Michael and Turbin together and had a virtual lock to eventually own the top runner in the Seahawk backfield. A potential HB2 or HB1 is in my opinion worth a lot more than a potential WR2 but not a bad pick at all. I like the Stepfan Taylor pick and think he has as good of a chance as anyone else currently on the Cardinals roster to be the future at the position (that is a very crowded position however Mendenhall, R.Williams, Ellington, Powell). Bailey is a very solid receiver but I think he is going to struggle to separate himself among this group (Givens, Austin, Quick). This draft was definitely solid for BSL though adding a potential star in Patterson I'll give it an A- just because it would have been nice to lock up that Seahawks backfield.

Scott's Tots Grade: B+
1.08 - HB Marcus Lattimore, 49ers
2.13 - TE Tyler Eifert, Bengals
2.17 - HB Knile Davis, Chiefs
2.18 - HB Mike Gillislee, Dolphins

MG's Take: I think the pick of Lattimore (he eventually traded him so it's all good) was a risk he couldn't afford and a flat out bad pick. I'll be the first to say it I don't think the kid is coming back from that leg injury I really hope he does but it's just highly doubtful he ever becomes an elite runningback option. I would have gone Hunter or Franklin easily. I'm a pretty big fan of the rest of this draft though Eifert is the best tight end prospect to come out in years so snagging him in the 2nd is solid, Knile Davis' combine numbers are off the charts as well as his speed rating he has an outside chance at being really special I think he's already the unquestioned number two back behind Charles, and then Gillislee worst case scenario is a Lamar Miller injury away from producing but he is talented enough and a good enough fit in that ZBS that he could steal some carries and looks from a healthy Miller. Overall I'm a big fan of every pick in this draft except the first so that results in a B+.

Goonsquad Grade: D+
1.11 - WR Quinton Patton, 49ers
2.22 - HB Joseph Randle, Cowboys

MG's Take: I hate to call out my boy Tick but I have yet to see Patton go in the 1st round of any rookie drafts other than ours. More often than not Patton has even been available in the 3rd. I do love grabbing a receiver in that offense but you have to think he is far down the depth chart and after seeing a receiver they drafted in the 1st round (AJ Jenkins) get little to no playing time in year one it's hard to get excited about a 4th rounder. I think Allen, Woods, Wheaton, Dobson would all have been much better picks for the Goonsquad here. Randle keeps this draft from being an F as he could actually find himself starting a handful of games with the injury prone Murray in front of him. I believe the Goonsquad is on the way up in their rebuild but this draft didn't help much at all.

Matt Boles Grade: B
2.16 - WR Robert Woods, Bills
3.27 - TE Zac Ertz, Eagles

MG's Take: A solid but unspectacular draft for Boles. Woods has a chance to develop into a nice WR2 but I would have liked for him to take a shot on one of the lottery pick runningbacks (Davis, Gillislee, Michael). Ertz is in a nice situation with the Eagles but he's not an overwhelming talent at the position by any means. This draft left Boles in the same situation he was in prior to the draft with Brady, C.Johnson, Welker and no real heir apparents to their positions.

CLO Collins Grade: B
3.23 - QB EJ Manuel, Bills

MG's Take: Not a bad pick and there is some upside here but when you're already set at quarterback (Stafford and Tannehill) and lack a lot of depth elsewhere I don't know if taking a luxury boom or bust QB is the position you want to go with. I would have liked to seen Latavius Murray or Da'Rick Rogers go here an upside HB or WR pick instead of adding another young QB to the fold. Snagging the best QB in the draft still lands you with a B grade though. Don't feel bad for CLO though if you count trades in he would have an A as he essentially took Julio Jones with the 1.01.

Kory Adams Grade: A
3.30 - HB Andre Ellington, Cardinals

MG's Take: Considering what else was left in the draft, Ellington could be a steal. I see him consistently going in the 2nd round of rookie drafts and he does have some potential upside. It was a solid but limited draft for Kory Adams.

Carolina Lions Grade: A-
3.33 - WR Marquise Goodwin, Bills

MG's Take: He's fast, really fast, that alone makes him a solid risk to take this late in the 3rd round. Solid late round pick by the Lions, while just like any 3rd round pick it's going to take a lot for him to pan out but when you have world class speed you always have a shot.

Super Manning Grade: N/A
MG's Take: Made a solid deal to get out of his draft pick but you have to select a player to get a draft grade.
